Fiorello’s Artisan Gelato

Made in San Rafael, California, this local gelato is dense, creamy and intensely flavored using hand-selected ingredients from local dairies. It is an “airless” gelato which gives it a unique texture.

The Story

Tony Bonviso has been making gelato in Marin since 1982. Thirty-eight years ago, he started experimenting with recipes at home, at night on his own – turning his kitchen into a workshop – filling note books with formulas. He even flew to Rimini in Italy to reconnect with his Italian heritage, hoping to discover the well-preserved secrets of true gelato-makers. Clearly, Tony figured it out and we’re happy to say he’s still at it – as committed to quality today as he was decades ago
