Get to Know Today’s Best Writers & the Books Everyone’s Talking About

Sausalito Books by the Bay patrons will receive 20% off ALL passes to see a knockout literary lineup at this year’s Bay Area Book Festival with code SAUS20

The Festival, May 1-9, is entirely headliners and entirely online, making it easy to see some of today’s most exciting authors from your home. And because the adult programs are almost all live, you can be part of the conversation. What’s more, if you can’t make a particular event date, no worries. Ticketholders get access to the recording for 10 days!

Among the authors you’ll want to see:

●       Nobel Laureate Kazuo Ishiguro (Klara and the Sun) with rising star Yaa Gyasi Transcendent Kingdom) on artificial intelligence, science, and human emotion

●       2020 Booker Prize winner Douglas Stuart author of the wrenching, stupendous Shuggie Bain on overcoming poverty and family trauma

●       2020 National Book Award winner Charles Yu (Interior Chinatown, Westworld) on Asian stereotyping, screenwriting, and more

●       China expert Orville Schell with MacArthur “genius” Yiyun Li and historian Adam Hochschild on the power of art to triumph over tragedy

●       Three leading poets — Pulitzer winner and past U.S. Poet Laureate Tracy K. Smith, Reginald Dwayne Betts (New York Times Magazine’s poetry editor) and Camille Dungy (recently featured in The New Yorker) — putting words to the unsayable events of 2020

●       Bestselling climate fiction “prophet” Jeff VanderMeer (Annihilation)

●       Formidable human rights activist, memoirist, and viral TED speaker Valarie Kaur

●       Mother’s Day special: Three top female international authors (all finalists for the Booker Prize) on women’s stories around the world

●       And… the Bay Area’s own Vendela Vida (We Run the Tides) on growing up in San Francisco and how it’s changed

While most of the adult events are ticketed ($15 each), a Festival Pass discounts a quantity of events and simplifies registration (which you just do once!). Regular pass prices are $60-$120, but Books by the Bay readers get 20% off -- or only $48 (covering six tickets!) to $96, covering everything (plus you get one of the hottest new books, There’s a Revolution Outside, My Love).

You can order copies of the rest of the books at checkout to be shipped to you — or, better, just pick up your copy at Sausalito Books by the Bay! They’ll also deliver locally or ship free anywhere in the U.S.
